Hygenic floor finishes
Hygiene
is at the top many peoples priorities as the word itself sends
messages that generally are taken very serious.
With continuous improvements and targets being set higher
each day, now is the time to set your standards higher than
ever before and be judged on the selection of your new floor
finish, with the help of Deccon you can be Guaranteed the
correct choice first time.
The
selection process of resin flooring is critical, by answering
some simple pre-qualifying questions Deccon will assure you
not only of the type of finish you require but also Hygienic
implications that are as standard is this ever demanding world.
Hygienic not only means clean, it also means cleanable, if
you have a hygienic floor that is not easy to clean then the
situation becomes more serious, this could be caused by the
lack of good housekeeping but could also be the result of
an incorrect specification of a floor finish.
The questions that are asked by Deccon where hygienic flooring
if required are as follows:
-
What is your working environment, Dry or wet or maybe both?
- What
standards do you work within, for example it would be cGMP
if you work in the Pharmaceutical sector?
-
How do you clean your floors, what type of footwear is worn,
is there problems with slips and trips?
-
Aesthetically what are you hoping to achieve, would you
require a totally smooth finish or a slightly aggregated
surface?
-
How long would you like your floor to last, both in appearance
and performance?
- Do
you have a budget for your project?
These are just a few of the questions asked by Deccon when
helping you to select a suitable Hygienic flooring system,
and by getting the answers from you at the beginning we can
start to build the specification process that ensures you
floor is totally Fit For Purpose.
Many floor finishes today can be found in the market place
that contain Biocides or otherwise known as anti-bacterial
additives, generally these products are added to the floor
system whilst being installed, they can help inhibit the growth
of certain bacteria such as MRSA, Listeria, E-coli & streptococcus
as they become part of the matrix of the floor finish and
with good housekeeping and regular clean down you can be confident
your Hygienic floor will meet the standards on a day to day
basis.
